Our team studied scores on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) - known as "The Nation‘s Report Card” - to identify those states that show significant gains. The states in the tables below made the greatest gains in the NAEP assessment, between the years 2007 to 2013, irrespective of overall rank among the states. These gains were a statistically significant difference from the growth experienced in national public scores, as determined by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Thoses states highlighted in blue scored above the national average for that subject and grade.
Our next post will explore the specific reforms instituted in those states where the greatest improvements were made.
